Pillay wants probe on war

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay, who is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka in August, says an international independent investigation must take place in Sri Lanka into allegations of war crimes. Clash in Valachchennai

A clash occurred between two groups in Valchchennai this evening, the police said. The clash occurred between two communities over the distribution of water for farmland in the area. At least 3 people were injured in the clash and had to be admitted to hospital for treatment.
