Five cops arrested over death of suspect further remanded

Five policemen arrested last month over the death of a suspect in the custody of the Peliyagoda police, have been further remanded till March 13. Among those arrested was a Sub Inspector (SI). The police arrested the 41-year-old suspect in Nawagamuwa for having in his possession an illegal weapon, and had detained him at the Peliyagoda Police station. President heads to Indonesia, talks with Widoda on Wednesday

President Maithripala Sirisena left for Indonesia today?to attend the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Summit and have talks with?Indonesian President Joko Widoda. Widoda had invited President Maithripala Sirisena to pay a state visit to his country immediately after his scheduled participation at the IORA Summit in Jakarta. President Sirisena will attend the IORA Summit on 6th and 7th of March and will begin his State visit on March 8.
