President issues gazette keeping military on alert

President Maithripala Sirisena has issued an Extraordinary Gazette keeping the military on alert to be deployed in the event there is public disturbance. The Extraordinary Gazette notice was issued after the state of emergency was lifted. Police raid party and seize heroin, eight arrested

Police raided a party at a hotel in Ratnapura and seized heroin, the Police media unit said. The Police said that eight people were arrested at the party including three females. The party had been organised using Facebook.
