Fuel prices increased from today

Fuel prices have been increased from today, both the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and Lanka Indian Oil Corporation (LIOC) announced.

Accordingly, CPC said that a litre of Petrol 92 ( Octane) has been increased from Rs 157 to 177 (Rs 20), 95 (octane ) from Rs 184 to 207 by (Rs 23),?Auto diesel from Rs 111 to 121 (Rs 10), Super diesel from Rs 144 to 159 ?(Rs 15) and Kerosene?from Rs 77 to 87 by (Rs 10).

Lanka Indian Oil said that it has increased the price of Petrol 92 ( Octane) from Rs 157 to 177 (Rs 20), 95 (octane ) from Rs 184 to 210 by (Rs 26), Auto diesel from Rs 111 to 121 (Rs 10), Super diesel from Rs 144 to 159 (Rs 15) and Kerosene from Rs 77 to 87 by (Rs 10).

Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila had said last month that a proposal was submitted to the Cabinet in March to help bring stability to the price of fuel in Sri Lanka.

However, he said the proposal had not yet been approved by the Cabinet.

Gammanpila said that the Central Bank had also proposed switching to a fuel price formula.

The Minister had said that if there is no alternative then a fuel price formula will be the only solution. (Colombo Gazette)

CPC to deliver urgently required diesel to CEB

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) is to deliver urgently required diesel to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) in order for it to operate its generators and avoid enforcing power cuts.
