Nuwara Eliya not exempted from quarantine curfew

Nuwara Eliya has not been exempted from the quarantine curfew, the Nuwara Eliya District Secretariat said today.

Nuwara Eliya District Secretary G.K.G.A.R.P.K. Nandhana said that most people are using their private vehicles to travel to the vaccination centers to get the Covid jab.

As a result, he said, there are several vehicles parked along the road.

The District Secretary urged the public to follow the guidelines issued by the Government during the quarantine curfew.

He also said that steps have been taken to ensure essential services operate uninterrupted during the curfew.

A quarantine curfew is current in force till 6th September. (Colombo Gazette)
