Postal workers on strike will lose part of their June salary,?Post Master General?D.L.P. Rohana Abhayaratne said today. The Post Master General said that Postal Department employees who report for duties will be paid the full salary for June while those who continue to strike will only receive a salary for the period from Jun 01 to 11.

Villagers in Kilinochchi kill leopard after it attacks 10 people

Villagers in Kilinochchi captured and killed a leopard after it attacked 10 people in the area. The villagers hunted down the animal after accusing wildlife officers of failing to do their duty. Wildlife officers had arrived at Ambalkulam in Kilinochchi to capture the animal but they had failed to locate it resulting in agitated residents deciding to look for the animal themselves.
