Free Trade Zone (FTZ) employees will be vaccinated from the first week of July, the Government said today.
Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Namal Rajapaksa said that discussions were held with the health authorities on the need to vaccinate employees at the free trade zones.
He said that at the discussion it was decided to vaccinate all employees at free trade zones around the country.
As a result, the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine will be administered to FTZ employees from the first week of July.
Rajapaksa expressed these views during a visit to the Koggala Free Trade Zone today.
During the visit, Rajapaksa discussed some of the issues faced by the workers at the Koggala Free Trade Zone.
The Minister also undertook an inspection visit of the site. (Colombo Gazette)
