Museum suspects given bail

The Colombo Fort Magistrate Gihan Pilapitya granted bail to the suspects in Colombo Museum robbery case. All except the main suspect were freed on Rs. 1 Million personal bail by the Magistrate when they were produced in court today. The Colombo National Museum was broken into in March last year and some historic items belonging to country`s last kings were stolen. UK MPs to visit the north

A British parliament delegation, which began a one week visit to Sri Lanka today, will visit the north of the country tomorrow, British Parliamentarian Simon Danczuk, who is part of the delegation, told the Colombo Gazette. He said that the delegation will also have talks with government and opposition members in the country as well as civil society members. Strong winds and heavy rain

The Department of Meteorology says heavy rain and strong winds will be experienced along the southwest and western parts of the country today. It said that showers will occur at times in the central, sabaragamuwa, western and southern provinces. Showers may extend to North-Western province too.
