Former Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake, who was in remand, was released on bail by the Nugegoda Magistrate?s Court today. Ramanaya was arrested last week, along with his physiotherapist, on charges of obstructing the duties of Police officers. An argument had erupted between Ramanayake and Police officers on duty near his housing complex when they had prevented Ramanayake?s physiotherapist from entering the complex to handover essential goods. Number of coronavirus patients detected in Sri Lanka crosses 300

UPDATE: The number of coronavirus patients detected in Sri Lanka crossed the 300 mark today. The Ministry of Health said that nine more patients were confirmed this evening to have contracted the virus taking the total to 304. Of the nine new patients, eight were identified as persons who were placed in quarantine in the Bandaranayakepura area in Colombo 12. The ninth person is said to be a fish vendor from Piliyandala. Polls chief to meet party leaders tomorrow

National Election Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya is to meet political party leaders tomorrow with regards to the Parliamentary election. Former United National Party Parliamentarian Dr. Harsha de Silva said that the National Election Commission Chairman will meet the party leaders in batches.
