Curfew in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttalam will not be lifted on Wednesday

The Government has decided not to lift the curfew in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam on Wednesday as earlier announced. The Government today amended the previously issued time frame on the relaxing of the islandwide Police curfew to certain districts. The President?s Media Division (PMD) said the islandwide Police curfew will continue in the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam districts till 5.00 a.m. on 27 April. Archbishop demands action against politicians for negligence

Guidelines issued for door-to-door sales

Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) C. D. Wickrmeratne has issued new guidelines for vendors conducting door to door mobile sales and delivery of essential goods, such as dry rations, vegetables and fruits.
