Massive python found in Matale

A massive python was found in Matale near the Ukuwela Power Station, wildlife department officials said today. The python, which is 22 feet long and weighs around 122 kilos was believed to have been the longest python found in Sri Lanka in recent times. Wildlife officials captured the snake and released it to the Elahera, Giritale forest reserve, officials said. The snake had not harmed anyone and may have come to the power station from a nearby forest area.
