Seven more coronavirus deaths reported in Sri Lanka

Seven more coronavirus related deaths have been reported in Sri Lanka.

The Government Information Department said that the death toll from the coronavirus in Sri Lanka has now risen to 116.

The seven victims are from Colombo, Moratuwa, Chilaw, Gothatuwa and Akuressa.

One victim is a 50-year-old woman from Colombo 2. She had been transferred from the Colombo National Hospital to the Mulleriyawa Base Hospital after testing positive for the coronavirus. She died while receiving treatment at the Mulleriyawa Base Hospital.

The second victim is a 48-year-old man from Gothatuwa. He had died at his residence.

The third victim is a 73-year-old man from Moratuwa. He died at the Homagama Base Hospital while receiving treatment for the coronavirus.

The fourth victim is a 70-year-old man from Chilaw. He died at the Chilaw hospital.

The fifth victim is a 51-year-old woman from Akuressa. She was transferred from the Karagampitiya hospital to the Homagama Base Hospital after testing positive for the coronavirus. She died while receiving treatment at the Homagama Base Hospital.

The sixth victim is a 90-year-old woman from Colombo 13. She was transferred from the Colombo National Hospital to the Homagama Base Hospital after testing positive for the coronavirus. She died while receiving treatment at the Homagama Base Hospital.

The seventh victim is a 78-year-old resident of Maradana. He died on admission to hospital. (Colombo Gazette)
