Teen raped by four men in Jaffna

A teenage girl has been raped by four men on different?occasions in Jaffna, the police in Jaffna said. Jaffna Police SP Eric Perera told reporters in Jaffna that the 14 year old girl had been raped over a love affair. He said that two of the four suspects had been arrested over the incident and investigations are underway. Meanwhile he also said that over the past week two suspects were arrested over two?separate?rape incidents involving underage girls in Jaffna and Vavuniya.

Shirani?s security withdrawn

The police security provided to former Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake has been withdrawn despite her claims that her life is under threat. Police spokesman SSP Priyashantha Jayakody said that Bandaranayake was now an ordinary citizen and as such her police security including a police post outside her private residence had been withdrawn. Rizana’s mom rejects Saudi help

The mother of Sri Lankan housemaid Rizana Nafeek has refused to accept any money from Saudi Arabia or Saudi nationals, reports from Muttur said today.
