Tourist attractions in Nuwara Eliya closed for public

All tourist attractions in Nuwara Eliya have been closed for the public as a result of the coronavirus.

The Government Information Department quoted Nuwara Eliya District Secretary M.B.R. Pushpakumara as saying that the coronavirus is spreading in the area.

He said that 30 people have already been detected with the virus in the Nuwara Eliya? District.

Pushpakumara said that with more PCR tests being carried out, the number of coronavirus patients in Nuwara Eliya is expected to rise.

On weekends and other holidays large number of local tourists visit Nuwara Eliya.

However, because of the coronavirus Pushpakumara says all tourist attractions in Nuwara Eliya will be closed.

He said that since there is a threat to tourists visiting Nuwara Eliya all tourist attractions will be closed until the situation improves. (Colombo Gazette)
