Detection of coronavirus patients not likely to drop to zero

The Ministry of Health says the detection of coronavirus patients is not likely to drop to zero.

Deputy Director-General of Health Services Dr.?Hemantha Herath said that while there is likely to be a reduction is the number of patients being detected in the weeks to come, it will not drop to zero.

“It is likely to fluctuate but will not drop to zero. It will take time to be brought under complete control,” he said.

Dr. Hemantha Herath said that the situation in Gampaha has however seen an improvement and as a result they expect the Minuwangoda cluster to be brought under control.

“The number of patients being detected in Minuwangoda has seen a drop,” he said.

Dr. Hemantha Herath said that the public must play their part to ensure the virus is brought under control around the country. (Colombo Gazette)
