Rev. Dushantha Lakshman Rodrigo was ordained as the 16th Bishop of the Diocese of Colombo, Church of Ceylon today.
The Archbishop of Canterbury as the Metropolitan of the Church of Ceylon, had last month appointed Rev. Dushantha Lakshman Rodrigo as the 16th Bishop of Colombo.
Archbishop Justin Welby was asked by the Diocesan Council of Colombo to select its next Diocesan Bishop in accordance with its constitution, when they found themselves unable to do so in August.
The Episcopal ordination and installation of Rev. Dushantha Lakshman Rodrigo as the 16th Bishop of the Diocese of Colombo, Church of Ceylon, took place today at the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour, Colombo.
Reverend Dushantha Rodrigo is a Thomian and serves as the principal of S. Thomas’ Preparatory School in Colombo. (Colombo Gazette)
