Two killed in elevator accident in Kandy

Two individuals have died after a makeshift elevator collapsed at a store in Kandy today.

The Police said the incident had occurred in the Lewella area in Kandy.

The makeshift elevator had reportedly collapsed at a wholesale clothing material store in the area.

The makeshift elevator was being used for construction work when it collapsed.

It is suspected that the elevator may have collapsed due to an electrical short circuit. (Colombo Gazette)
