Charitha Herath appointed COPE chairman

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MP Prof. Charitha Herath has been appointed as the Chairman of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE).

MP Herath’s name was proposed in Parliament today by Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage and was seconded by State Minister Jayantha Samaraweera.

On 27 August 2020, the Parliament approved the list of MPs proposed to be appointed as members of the COPE committee of the 09th Parliament of Sri Lanka.

MPs Mahinda Amaraweera, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Rohitha Abegunawardhana, Susil Premajayantha, Dilum Amunugama, Indika Anuruddha Herath, Dr. Sarath Weerasekara, D.V. Chanaka, Dr. Nalaka Godahewa, Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Rauff Hakeem, Anura Dissanayake, Patali Champika Ranawaka, Jagath Pushpakumara, Eran Wickramaratne, Ranjan Ramanayake, Nalin Bandara Jayamaha, S.M. Marikkar, Premnath C. Dolawatte, and Shanakiyan Rajaputhiran Rasamanickam were appointed as the members of the committee. (Colombo Gazette)
