Palitha Thewarapperuma admitted to hospital

Former parliamentarian Palitha Thewarapperuma was admitted to hospital with injuries allegedly sustained after an attack.

The former Deputy Minister had claimed he was attacked when he visited a construction site.

Thewarapperuma sought treatment in hospital for injuries on his arms and legs.

He had reportedly visited the construction site to inspect the quality of a water pipe laying project. (Colombo Gazette)

Navy member arrested over abduction of 11 youth

Another member of the Sri Lanka Navy has been arrested over the abduction of 11 youth. The Police said that the Navy member was arrested, specifically over the disappearance of three of the 11 youth.
