Soldier killed, two injured in Nugegoda accident

A soldier was killed and another two soldiers sustained injuries in a road accident in Nugegoda this morning.

The Police said that a private bus had crashed into a Sri Lanka Army vehicle on the Nugegoda flyover.

A soldier in the Army vehicle was killed in the accident while two soldiers sustained injuries and were admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital.

The deceased was identified as a 35 year -old resident of Ambalangoda.

The bus driver has been arrested over the accident and is to be produced before the Gangodawila Magistrate’s Court today. (Colombo Gazette)



  1. Some one had a rash driving. Flyovers are safe place for driving. In flyovers one must never overtake. I think one of the driver has attempted to overtake resulting in a head on collision. Deepest sympathies for the families for the loss of young men.
