A Sri Lankan man in the UK has been found guilty of assaulting his estranged wife?and was?handed a 12 months’ community order with a rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 40 days and 100 hours of unpaid work. Court issues arrest warrant on Gnanasara Thera

The Homagama Magistrate issued an arrest warrant today on the General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena, the venerable Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera. The arrest warrant was issued after the monk had allegedly disrespected court during proceedings into the disappearance of journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda. Tamil Nadu is using Sri Lanka for its own political gain, State Minister of Education V Radhakrishnan said today.
