Jeevan Thondaman appointed CWC General Secretary

Jeevan Thondaman was today appointed as the General Secretary of the Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC).

Thondaman, son of late CWC Leader and Minister Arumugam Thondaman was appointed to the post by the CWC politburo today.

Meanwhile, Anusha Sivarajah, who served as the General Secretary of the CWC, has been appointed as the CWC Deputy Leader. (Colombo Gazette)


  1. Is this an example of shameless entitlement that has often been felt by children of past Sri Lankan politicians?
    Would this young man, 26 years of age, have pursued public service (politics) if he wasn’t thrusted into it because of who his father was (and who his great grandfather was) and the untimely passing of his father?
