Court bars joint opposition from holding rally at Shalika grounds

The Colombo Additional Magistrate today issued an interim order preventing the joint opposition from holding its May Day rally at Shalika grounds in Narahempita. The Magistrate issued the order following a complaint filed by the police raising concerns the rally will create a tense situation. The?joint opposition however said it will hold the rally outside the grounds. (Colombo Gazette)

Lanka discusses missing persons issue with envoys in The Hague

Sri Lanka?s Ambassador to the Netherlands, A M J Sadiq hosted a meeting of ambassadors from Asia in The Hague to highlight the work of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) and to discuss the issue of missing and disappeared persons in the region,?ICMP said in a statement today. Government tells ex LTTE cadres, time to move forward
