Two arrested with heroin worth over Rs. 30 million

Two men were arrested with 3.27kg of heroin worth over Rs. 30 million, the Police said. They said the suspects were arrested in Rajagiriya while transporting the stock of narcotics in a three – wheeler. The arrest was made by Officials from the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB). The Police said the three- Wheeler used by the suspects was taken into Police custody. The suspects are to be produced before courts today. (Colombo Gazette)

UNP Working Committee fails to agree on symbol

The United National Party (UNP) Working Committee today failed to agree on the symbol of the new alliance and has decided to meet again on Sunday. Ranil says Government forced to beg from India, China

United National Party (UNP) leader Ranil Wickremesinghe says the Government has been forced to beg from India and China. Speaking in Matara today, Wickremesinghe said that the Government has not been able to manage the economy.
