SriLankan Airlines repatriates Chinese nationals from London

A SriLankan Airlines flight from London arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport today with Chinese nationals on transit.

It was earlier reported that a batch of 221 Sri Lankans who were stranded in England had arrived in the SriLankan Airlines flight.

However, SriLankan Airlines informed that the special SriLankan Airlines flight UL 504 was repatriating Chinese nationals to China and was transiting in Colombo.?

The group of Chinese nationals were repatriated via another special SriLankan Airlines flight UL 866 which was scheduled for departure at 2.15 p.m, it added. (Colombo Gazette)

Number of coronavirus cases goes past 200

The number of patients infected with the coronavirus in Sri Lanka has surpassed 200. The Ministry of Health said four more persons infected with COVID-19 were detected today, bringing the total number of infected patients to 203. Curfew to be temporarily lifted except in high risk areas

The curfew will be temporarily lifted in all areas except in the high risk areas on Thursday 16 April. The President’s Media Division (PMD) said the curfew will be temporarily lifted on Thursday 16 April at 6am and reimposed at 4pm the same day. One more coronavirus patient detected

Another patient infected with COVID-9 was detected this morning, raising the total number of patients to 199. The Ministry of Health said 138 infected patients have been reported as active cases. Meanwhile, 165 persons are under observation at various hospitals on suspicion of having contracted the virus.
