Sri Lankan Embassy in UAE closed until further notice

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has temporarily closed until further notice after five staff members tested positive for COVID-19.

The Embassy said in a public notice that the Embassy has been closed due to an emergency.

The Embassy said the public can contact the Embassy by email or Toll-Free No 800119119.

“We may not be able to answer all the calls right away due to the large volume of calls. We will call back within 24 hours. The Embassy encourages sending email as much as possible during the closure. We assure you of our best attention during this emergency period,” the Embassy said in a public notice. 

Meanwhile, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Relations Ruwanthi Delpitiya confirmed to the Colombo Gazette that five Sri Lankan staff members had tested positive for COVID-19, resulting in the temporary closing of the Embassy. (Colombo Gazette)
