The number of confirmed COVID-19 patients detected in Sri Lanka rose to 992, with one more patient being reported overnight.
The Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe said that out of the 11 patients reported yesterday 10 were navy personnel.
The remaining one person was a Sri Lankan who had returned from Singapore and was undergoing quarantine.
Dr, Jasinghe said among the confirmed patients, 424 have been reported as active cases.
Close to 148 individuals are under observation in various hospitals on suspicion of having contracted the virus.
Meanwhile, 559 patients have completely recovered and have been discharged from hospital.
Dr, Anil Jasinghe added that nine deaths have been reported due to COVID-19 so far in Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)
