Sri Lankans stranded in Japan, South Korea brought back

A group of Sri Lankans stranded in Japan and South Korea were brought back in a special SriLankan Airlines flight today.

Sri Lankan Airlines Flight UL-455 brought back 235 Sri Lankans from Japan this morning (Saturday).

The Sri Lanka Embassy in Tokyo said that the Embassy jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Relations in Sri Lanka, Presidential Secretariat and SriLankan Airlines repatriated the Sri Lankans from Japan to Sri Lanka.

The Embassy said that the group also included 16 Sri Lankans from South Korea.

All those who returned were sent to quarantine centers.

SriLankan Airlines has been operating special flights to fly back Sri Lankans stranded in several countries as a result of the coronavirus. (Colombo Gazette)
