Jogging tracks have been reopened to the public for exercising from today, the Police said.
Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon said the public have been requested to adhere to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health, such as wearing face masks.
The public have been specifically requested to use jogging tracks relatively close to their residences than those required to travel a distance.
He clarified that the National Identity Card (NIC) system will not be required to be followed if the jogging track is in and around their residential area.
Jogging tracks will be opened to the public from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. from today, he said.
Senior DIG Tennakoon added that the public have also been advised to strictly maintain a one meter distance while exercising. (Colombo Gazette)
