Wine stores to operate under strict guidelines

Taverns and bars are to re-open in areas where the curfew is not in effect.

The Excise Department said owners of retail liquor licences have been permitted to operate under strict guidelines.?

Permission has also been granted to wholesale liquor licence owners to operate during non- curfew hours.

Meanwhile, in the Colombo and Gampaha districts where the curfew is in force, supermarkets with licences to sell alcohol have been permitted to operate.

The Excise Department added that however, bars in hotels, pubs and restaurants have not been permitted to re-open. (Colombo Gazette)

Cash bundle worth Rs 5 million missing from Central Bank vault

A cash bundle worth Rs 5 million was found to be missing from a vault of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Agriculture Ministry insists China requested for 100,000 monkeys
