Sri Lankans stranded in Chennai return

Another batch of Sri Lankans who were stranded overseas due to the COVID-19 global outbreak arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake today.

The group consisting of 320 Sri Lankans were repatriated from Chennai, India this afternoon.

The stranded Sri Lankans arrived via a special flight chartered by National Carrier SriLankan Airlines.

The Ministry of Foreign Relations is carrying out special programs to repatriate Sri Lankans stranded overseas based on a request by the affected persons and their families. (Colombo Gazette)
