Development projects in Colombo to be expedited

Development projects in Colombo are to be expedited following instructions issued by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

A meeting in this regard headed by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was held at the Presidential Secretariat today.

Officials from the Urban Development Authority and Secretaries and heads of the relevant Ministries and departments attended the meeting.

The President advised the officials to look at investors as opposed to seeking loans to carry out the development projects.

He also noted the importance of ensuring all projects fall in line with local policies.

The President also instructed the relevant officials to commence the development projects of the Colombo Port West and East terminals. (Colombo Gazette)

Woman in Divulapitiya tests positive for coronavirus

By Easwaran Rutnam A woman in Divulapitiya has tested positive for the coronavirus, the Government Information Department said today. The 39-year-old woman had been detected with the virus after being admitted to the Gampaha hospital.
