The President’s Media Division said that the curfew will be lifted in all areas except in the Colombo and Gampaha districts from tomorrow at 5am and reimposed at 8pm daily.
The President’s Media Division said that institutional activities will resume in all the districts including in the Colombo district from tomorrow.
The Police had earlier announced guidelines to be in place for travel from tomorrow (11 May) during the curfew in Colombo.
An office Identification (ID) or some form of document in electronic form from a place of employment will be mandatory for anyone travelling to work from tomorrow.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Ajith Rohana said that email, WhatsApp or SMS can be used by any employee to confirm to the Police that they are on their way to a place of employment.
He said that while the curfew is in force, certain restrictions are being lifted from tomorrow to allow economic activities to resume in the Western Province.
He also said that the last digit National ID card system will be operational in areas where the curfew is imposed from tomorrow (11 May) where the public can leave their homes to purchase essential items from the nearest store.
The public living in Colombo and Gampaha with National ID cards ending with the numbers 1 and 2 can leave their homes tomorrow to purchase essential items, including medicine. (Colombo Gazette)
