Another group of Sri Lankans stranded in UK return

A group of Sri Lankans who were stranded in the United Kingdom (UK) due to the coronavirus pandemic arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake today.

Media Spokesperson to SriLankan Airlines Deepal Perera told the Colombo Gazette that 194 students had returned to Sri Lankan at around 2.30 a.m.

The students have been sent to quarantine centers and will undergo a quarantine period of between 14-20 days.

Meanwhile, another flight is scheduled for today to repatriate Sri Lankan students stranded in Singapore.

Sri Lankans stranded overseas are being repatriated by the Ministry of Foreign Relations based on requests made by the stranded individuals and their families. (Colombo Gazette)
