The Sri Lankans had been employed at a local company in Tărtășești, a commune in the Dâmbovița County in southern Romania.
“From the beginning of the pandemic until May 4, 2020, 1,019 tests were performed in Dâmboviţa County, of which 112 cases were confirmed with the COVID-19 virus. Of these, 32 people recovered, 73 are under strict medical supervision, and seven people died, the last death being recorded yesterday (Monday). Five cases have now been confirmed in Tărtășești and all are Sri Lankans. The Sri Lankans have been in contact with 27 people,” officials said.
The Romanian company has been imposed a fine for failing to prevent the virus from spreading in the premises. (Colombo Gazette)
