The information was communicated to former Parliamentarians at a meeting headed by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees today.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Finance told the participants that Sri Lanka is anticipating USD 127 million of aid but has not yet been received it.
The financial aid will be utilised to cover the expenses of the Ministry of Health and COVID-19.
Furthermore, a programme has been initiated to send 53,000 people stranded in Colombo back to their homes, the Prime Minister’s Office said.
The Director-Genera of Health and the State Intelligence Unit notified all MPs present of the Government’s quarantine programme to mitigate the spread of the virus.
