Another group of 40 Pakistanis who were stranded in Sri Lanka due to the COVID-19 outbreak were repatriated this morning.
The group was repatriated to Pakistan via Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL-1185 that left Colombo at 0700 a.m. today.
Second Secretary (Political), Ayesha Abubakar Fahad was present on behalf of the High Commissioner of Pakistan to see off the departing Pakistanis at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake.
The Pakistan High Commission in Colombo in coordination with Sri Lankan Authorities and Government of Pakistan had already repatriated 50 stranded Pakistanis on 28 April.
The returning Pakistanis acknowledged the efforts of the High Commission of Pakistan for providing all possible support and assistance during their stay in Sri Lanka in this difficult time. (Colombo Gazette)
