Trustee of organisation linked to Easter attacks mastermind arrested

A suspect has been arrested on charges of organizing lectures and weapons training programs for the ringleader of the Easter Sunday terror attacks Zahran Hashim.

Police Media Spokesman SP Jaliya Senaratne said that the arrested individual is a trustee of a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Kalpitiya.

The suspect who is ?a resident of Kalpitiya was arrested by officials of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

SP Senaratne said the suspect is accused of organizing and conducting lectures and weapons training programs for Zahran Hashim through the NGO.

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is conducting further investigations into the arrest.

A total of 119 suspects have been arrested so far in connection to the Easter Sunday terror attacks that occurred in April last year killing over 250 persons and injuring over 500. (Colombo Gazette)

Trinity College Kandy signs agreement to take Kuliyapitiya child

Trinity College Kandy has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Education to admit the child from Kuliyapitiya who was forced to leave his school over false claims that he has HIV. Trinity College had offered to take the child and ensure he obtains education and the agreement was signed with the?Ministry of Education in this regard.
