All post offices in the country that were closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, will resume operations from 04 may 2020.
Postmaster- General Ranjith Ariyaratne said that payments of monthly public allowances, allowances for elders, pension for retired farmers and pensioners will be undertaken at the post offices.
The public will also be allowed to make payments of electricity, water and phone bills, money transfer, and the exchange of letters and parcels within the country.
Ariyaratne requested the public arriving at the post offices to follow the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and the post office administration. (Colombo Gazette)
