Suspected COVID-19 infected persons identified in Colombo

More persons infected and suspected to be infected with COVID-19 were identified within the Colombo district yesterday.
Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe told the media two persons infected with COVID-19 were identified in the Muhandhiram E. D. Dabare Mawatha in Narahenpita.
A resident of Torrington Lane, Colombo, who had visited coronavirus -infected Bandaranaike Mawatha in Colombo -12, was identified, and is suspected of having contracted the virus.
Meanwhile, an employee of the Colombo Urban Council was identified as another individual who may have contracted the virus.
Contact tracing had revealed the driver of the lorry owned by him is a resident of Bandaranaike Mawatha in Colombo -12, Dr. Jasinghe said.
He said contact tracing is successfully being conducted by the relevant officials, adding that if direct or indirect contact of patients continues it will lead to the social transmission of the coronavirus. (Colombo Gazette)
