Navy officers injured in accident

Five Navy Personnel were injured after the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus they were travelling in met with an accident early this morning.

The Police said the bus transporting Navy officers had veered off the road and crashed into a wall in the Randombe area in Ambalangoda.

The Navy personnel were reportedly returning to service to the Navy Headquarters from the Baddegama, Galle and Koggala areas.

The Police said the injured naval personnel have been admitted to the Balapitiya Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the bus has been arrested, while the Police suspect the accident may have occurred due to the former falling asleep. (Colombo Gazette)

School students grab journo’s camera

Students of a leading school in Maradana grabbed a video correspondent of Hiru Television and took his camera when he went to video an incident at the school. US to fund Lankan refugees in India

The US government announced today that it will fund NGO activities targeting Sri Lankan refugees in Tamil Nadu, India.
