A total of seventeen patients infected with COVID-19 were detected in Sri Lanka as of this evening (Sunday).
The Director of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe said that among the patients, 10 were Navy personnel on leave, while one person was from the Kandakadu quarantine center.
The latest detection raised the number of confirmed COVID-19 patients in Sri Lanka to 477.
Dr, Jasinghe said 350 persons among the infected have been identified as active cases.
A total of 273 persons have been admitted to various hospitals on suspicion of having contracted the virus.
Dr. Anil Jasinghe said 120 patients, including 119 Sri Lankans and a Chinese woman, have recovered so far and have been discharged from hospital.
Seven deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported so far in Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)
