More coronavirus patients detected

Fifteen more persons infected with COVID-19 were detected in Sri Lanka today.

The Ministry of Health said seven among the infected patients are from Bandaranaike Mawatha in Colombo 12.

The patients were identified while in quarantine at the Kandakadu quarantine center.

The rest includes four Navy sailors and a man admitted to the Monaragala hospital.

The Ministry of Health said the latest detection raises the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Sri Lanka to 435.

Among the confirmed COVID-19 cases, 310 patients have been identified as active cases.

A total of 247 persons are admitted to a number of hospitals on suspicion of having contracted the coronavirus, the Ministry said.

Meanwhile, 7 more patients infected with COVID-19 have completely recovered and were discharged from hospital today.

The Ministry of Health said a total of 118 patients, including 117 Sri Lankans and a Chinese woman, have recovered so far and have been discharged from hospital.

Seven deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported so far in Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)
