A curfew was imposed and lifted after a few hours in parts of Ampara today.
The curfew was imposed in the Uhana and Damana areas in Ampara today.
Army Commander, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said that the two areas were placed under a temporary curfew and movements to the areas had been restricted.
The curfew in the two areas was later lifted but travel restrictions to these areas remains in place. (Colombo Gazette)
