Peliyagoda fish market to be closed for three days

The Peliyagoda fish market is to be closed over the next three days.
The Fish Traders Union said the Peliyagoda fish market will remain closed from tomorrow.
The decision has been taken to curtail the spread of the coronavirus within the market premises, the Union added.?
It was reported that a fish vendor from Piliyandala, who was detected yesterday to have contracted COVID-19, had visited the Peliyagoda fish market.
The Fish Traders Union said owners and employees of 154 stalls in the Peliyagoda fish market will be subject to PCR testing tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the Government Information Department said retail trading has been temporarily suspended at the Peliyagoda fish Market.
Business has been restricted to wholesale trading by the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, it said. (Colombo Gazette)
