Curfew in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttalam will not be lifted on Wednesday

The Government has decided not to lift the curfew in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam on Wednesday as earlier announced.
The Government today amended the previously issued time frame on the relaxing of the islandwide Police curfew to certain districts.
The President?s Media Division (PMD) said the islandwide Police curfew will continue in the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam districts till 5.00 a.m. on 27 April.
The PMD said the curfew will not be temporarily lifted as announced earlier at 5.00 a.m. on Wednesday (22).
The curfew will be in effect in other districts from 8.00 p.m. to 5.00 a.m. till Friday (24) and will continue to be in effect from 8.00 pm on 24 April till 5.00 a.m. on 27 April.
The PMD said the curfew will not be relaxed and will continue on Saturday (25) and Sunday (26).
Entry and exit to the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam districts have been completely restricted.
Previous guidelines issued for essential services and the Agricultural Sector will not be affected by the new amendments to curfew hours, the PMD added. (Colombo Gazette)
