Colombo stock market to remain closed

The Colombo stock market is to remain closed and will not resume operations this week, the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) said today.

The CSE was to resume operations this week after being closed during the curfew.

However, the Government announced today that the curfew in the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam will continue until 27th April 2020.

In view of the above, the CSE said it will not recommence trading on 22nd April 2020. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. Can they revive the stock market when it has a history of fraud and corruption and the criminals allowed to roam free. And the Corona virus has sapped the last bit of life from it. More investors have been sacrificed and rendered broke and paupers.
