Nagalagama Street in Grandpass, Colombo was declared as an isolation area today.
Military Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickremesinghe told the Colombo Gazette that an individual involved in drug related activities was identified as one of the patients infected with COVID-19 reported from Suduwella, Ja-ela, and had reportedly visited Nagalagama Street.
He said 118 persons from the area were moved to quarantine centers after coming into direct contact with the COVID-19 patient.
They were transferred to several quarantine centers, including Punani, Sampur, Galkanda and Vaikkala yesterday, as a precaution to prevent the further spread of the virus, he said.
The Military Spokesman said entry and exit to the area has been restricted as part of measures to curb the spread of COVID-19. (Colombo Gazette)
