Number of coronavirus patients detected in Sri Lanka continues to rise

UPDATED: The number of coronavirus patients detected in Sri Lanka continued to rise today (Sunday). The Health Promotion Bureau said that the total number of patients detected in Sri Lanka rose to 175 late this evening. Among those detected are three from the Homagama Hospital, one at a quarantine center in Puttalam, one in Matara, two in Colombo and one in Negombo. Work from home period extended

The Government has declared 06- 10 April as a period to ?work from home?. The President?s Media Division (PMD) said that the decision to extend the work from home period has been taken in order to curtail the spread of the novel coronavirus in Sri Lanka. Fifth coronavirus death reported in Sri Lanka

The fifth death due to the coronavirus in Sri Lanka was reported this morning. The Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe said the deceased has been identified as a 44 year- old male from Homagama. The individual had been placed at a quarantine centre after returning from Italy and had been transferred to the Welikanda Hospital on 23 March, he said.
