Face masks made mandatory

The public have been informed that it is mandatory to wear face masks when traveling on main roads and by- roads from today.

Police Spokesman SP Jaliya Senaratne said a large number of Health officials, and Tri- Forces and Police personnel are constantly on the roads carrying out their official duties to minimize the spread of the coronavirus in Sri Lanka.

A large group of these officials have gone into self- quarantine due to the irresponsible behaviour of some citizens who had disregarded guidelines issued by health officials, he said.

SP Senaratne pointed out that it was the responsibility of all citizens to help protect the health of these officials carrying out their duties.

He added that only then can their services be provided further to combat against COVID-19 in Sri lanka and safeguard society.

Police Spokesman SP Jaliya Senaratne requested the public, as a show of respect and support to the Health officials, and Tri- Forces and Police personnel on duty, to wear face masks when stepping outdoors. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. Finally, officials are implementing what is necessary to stop spreading COVID 19 without having to weaken the economy. If you ask anyone ‘would you prefer wearing mask and living your normal life or locking yourself inside of your house by curfew, most of the people would say wearing mask and living a normal life.

  2. If you can’t afford to buy a mask, start to make one. Browse the YouTube ‘how to make a mask’ it has plenty of instructions. I have a business idea for the ladies who are unemployed ‘start to make masks, you can sell in millions’ use the opportunity to help others and make money.
